Thicknesses
Patio flagstone comes in .5"–1", 1"–1.5", 1.75"–2.25" and 2.5" thicknesses, plus 3"–5" builders. Thinner stone covers more square feet per ton and suits mortar-set patios; 2" and thicker stone can be dry-laid on a sand and gravel base.
Slabs and stand-ups
Slabs and stand-up slabs are larger, more uniform pieces picked for stepping-stone paths and showpiece patios. Stand-ups are shipped standing on edge in crates so the faces arrive clean and unbroken.
Pool coping
Our 2"–2.5" pool coping is heavy enough to cantilever over a pool edge and stays cooler underfoot than concrete.
Coverage
As a rule of thumb, a ton of 1"–1.5" flagstone covers about 100–120 square feet and a ton of 2" stone covers about 70–90 square feet, depending on how tightly you set the joints.
